Triam Security is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Automation Engineer to join our team. This role merges your passion for automation with your exceptional Quality Assurance (QA) skills to streamline security testing and create robust security solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leverage your QA background to design, develop, and implement automated security tools and scripts using Python and another scripting/programming language (e.g., Bash, Ruby, Java).
- Focus on test automation: Prioritize the automation of repetitive QA tasks within the security domain, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, log analysis, incident response procedures, and security configuration management.
- Think like an attacker: Apply your QA mindset to ensure the security findings are accurate and report all false positive and false negative issues.
- Integrate security tools and platforms using APIs and scripting to create a cohesive and efficient security ecosystem, ensuring comprehensive testing coverage.
- Continuously improve existing security automation tools and scripts, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity threats, automation trends, and scripting languages to maintain an edge in security testing.
- Meticulously document automation processes and procedures for clear communication and future reference.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Working knowledge of another scripting or programming language commonly used in cybersecurity is desirable.
- A demonstrably successful track record in applying QA methodologies to identify and resolve security issues.
- Fair understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills
- Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for secure application deployment.
- Proficiency in a cloud platform, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its security services.
- Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
