Role Overview:
As a Systems Engineer (Junior Level 2) on our Package Research team, you will contribute
to vulnerability research efforts focused on Linux packages and container security. With
entry-level experience, you will learn to identify security issues in open-source
components, help analyze basic package dependencies and support our vulnerability
tracking processes. Your role provides an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in Linux
security research while contributing to our mission of securing the software supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn to identify basic vulnerabilities in C/Linux packages
- Assist in analyzing package metadata and versions
- Help with basic dependency tracking and documentation
- Support senior team members in vulnerability research activities
- Document findings under supervision
- Assist with organizing and categorizing vulnerability data
- Learn Linux package security concepts and best practices
- Help with routine vulnerability scanning and reporting
- Support basic testing of package security fixes
- Grow skills in C/Linux security analysis
Required Qualifications:
- 0-1 year of experience in IT, software development, or security
- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems
- Fundamental knowledge of programming concepts
- Interest in security and vulnerability research
- Willingness to learn C programming and Linux package management
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

- Basic familiarity with Linux command line
