Role Summary: We are seeking an accomplished VP of Engineering for Core Tech to lead our engineering organization responsible for package repositories, image creation, and core platform technology. The ideal candidate will drive technical innovation while building and scaling high-performing engineering teams to deliver secure, compliant, and efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and scale the Core Tech engineering organization, including Package, Design, Build, and Tooling teams
• Develop the technical roadmap for CleanStart's core platform, aligning with business objectives and security requirements
• Establish engineering best practices, architecture standards, and development methodologies
• Drive innovation in secure image creation, package management, and container technologies
• Collaborate with the Threat Research team to implement security-first development approaches
• Partner with the CTO and VP of QA/Delivery to ensure seamless integration across teams
• Mentor and develop technical leaders within the organization
• Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and technical staffing plans
• Represent CleanStart's technical capabilities to customers, partners, and the industry

Requirements:

• 10+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership roles
• Deep expertise in container technology, Linux systems, and package management
• Experience with secure development practices and FIPS/compliance requirements
• Track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and modern development practices
• Experience with cloud-native technologies and infrastructure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred
